Enigma
Enigma: “ a person or thing that is mysterious or difficult to understand”.
Drug use is often viewed as mysterious, to the extent that we use labels such as “complex”, and hear phrases such as “I don’t understand why a human being would do that to themselves”. However, drug use can be seen as an extension of normal human behaviour, as the pursuit of a ‘high’ has always been a part of the human experience such as the desire to travel, shopping, gambling, food, sex or extreme sports.
At Enigma we normalise the desire for a human being to chase a high, but at the same time differentiate between a high that is safe and one that is detrimental to an individual’s quality of life.
We believe that drug use is not an Enigma. Instead we see it as a process to change the way somebody views the world. What do you do to change your view of the world?
